Introducing TAG (Taxi Assigned by Geolocation) the new taxi ordering service‑– now available in the Greater Toronto area, Montreal and Trois-Rivières. Taxis come and taxis go, but tag them once and off you go!
We are unfortunately not yet available in the City of Toronto, but it’ll come soon, no worries!

It’s free to download and free to use! You only have to pay the drivers for the rides you take, like you normally would.

Order your taxi, your way: personalize your taxi experience to get the best out of your cab. How? The TAG taxi ™ application allows you to add ride details, to make sure the taxi you order is equipped to meet your needs (method of payment, oversized luggage, type of vehicle, pets, etc.). You can also let the taxi company know what you thought of the ride: TAG allows you to rate each ride on how courteous the service was, on the driving and on the taxi’s general cleanliness.

Now, no need for a quiet place to order a taxi: just give your screen a few taps! And there’s no more misunderstood names or addresses: thanks to the application’s use of geolocation and to your personalized profile, the right info will get you the right taxi, at the right time and place.

Features:
• order a taxi in just a few taps
• rate rides, on the driving, driver courtesy and taxi cleanliness
• personalize the experience by specifying important ride details (pets, oversized luggage, type of vehicle)
• locate yourself quickly, thanks to suggested near venues (feature assisted by application’s geolocation)
• review ride history, including ride details and evaluations
• specify method of payment (credit card, debit card or cash)
• track the assigned taxi
• connect to facebook
• select which language we’ll use to communicate with you outside the application

Good news: you can now Tag a cab in 4 cities of the Greater Toronto Area! Our service is now available in Mississauga, Vaughan, Pickering and Ajax, as well as Montreal and Trois-Rivières. Your city isn’t on the list? Fear not intrepid cab riders, the service will be widened before long. Stay tuned for other announcements: we’ll offer our service in new cities soon.

Application’s geolocation requirements: TAG taxi™ is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S running iOS 4.3 or later.

Pros and cons of TAG taxi app for iPhone and iPad

TAG taxi app good for

From now on this is the only way I will call a Taxi. Well done!
Godsend to my cab calling woes. Fantastic app! *Please expand to include more cabs/companies, can take awhile to call during busy hours sometimes.
Only has diamond taxi in Montreal but great app. Nice to be able to track Taxi on its way
really handy, no hassle to call cabs, can see on gps those canbies that are lost and cannot find my adress, can order cabs with specific payment method, etc, etc. in brief: a must even for occasional cab users!!!
Its faster than calling the Taxi agency, at least your call is not lost and you can track your Taxi coming. Useful app
So easy and since I dont live right on the street, I go out to meet taxi only when it is almost at my house.

Some bad moments

Claims to be in Toronto... Got an email confirming so, found myself waiting for an hour can downtown Toronto because I didnt have a cab number for TO and this app couldnt recognize a single location I was in :s Waste of time and energy!
The app should allow a correction of the address from my phones location based on GPS and there should be a way to give feedback or communicate with the driver or operator if we cant find the cab despite the map showing it being there.
I have over 20 uses, and since the update, it has messed up everything. Its no longer working and needs to revert its code base.
It seems like a cool app, however, it crashes every time I tag my location. Looking forward to future version releases.
Error and crash on 1st use. Reboot and same error. Thats all! What less could you want in an app?
